Brandenburg – Heute trafen sich rund 200 Schülerinnen und Schüler aus ganz Brandenburg beim Landestreffen des Netzwerks „Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage“, um über politisches Engagement für ein sensibles Schulleben gegen Diskriminierung zu diskutieren. In Workshops mit ihren Lehrkräften entwickelten die Jugendlichen Maßnahmen für den Schulalltag. Das diesjährige Motto lautete „Courage-Schulen – im Netzwerk verbunden, aktiv und wirksam“.
Landtagspräsidentin Prof. Dr. Ulrike Liedtke, Schirmherrin der Veranstaltung, begrüßte die Teilnehmenden im Plenarsaal und würdigte das vielfältige Engagement der Courage-Schulen: „Jeder einzelne von euch trägt dazu bei, eine Schule zu schaffen, in der jeder Mensch unabhängig von seiner Herkunft oder seinem Aussehen willkommen ist. Bundesweit sind es inzwischen weit über 4.400 Schulen, die im Netzwerk couragiert gegen Rassismus und Rechtsextremismus, aber auch gegen Mobbing und Gewalt eintreten. Diese Schulen werden von mehr als zwei Millionen Schülerinnen und Schülern besucht. Das ist eine beachtliche Zahl und das zeigt: Ihr seid mehr!“
Im Land Brandenburg haben mittlerweile 104 Schulen den Titel „Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage“ erworben, der die langfristige Verpflichtung zur Durchführung von Aktionen und Projekten gegen Rassismus beinhaltet. Die Landestreffen werden von den Regionalen Arbeitsstellen für Bildung, Integration und Demokratie Brandenburg (RAA Brandenburg) koordiniert. In diesem Jahr waren Courage-Schulen aus verschiedenen Städten wie Angermünde, Bernau, Birkenwerder, Blankenfelde-Mahlow, Brandenburg an der Havel, Cottbus, Eberswalde, Eichwalde, Falkensee, Forst, Fürstenwalde, Gransee, Kloster Luckenwalde, Nauen, Neuruppin, Niedergörsdorf, Mühlenbeck, Oranienburg, Potsdam, Rathenow, Rheinsberg, Rüdersdorf, Schönefeld, Senftenberg, Treuenbrietzen, Wildau Wittstock und Schwedt/Oder vertreten.
